Warning, if you normally get pre-packaged chopped salads, salad blends and kits, a recall was made on January 22, 2016 on certain Dole brand pre-packaged chopped salads, salad blends and kits and leafy greens and certain PC Organics brand leafy greens recalled due to Listeria monocytogenes. These products have been distributed to New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, Quebec, and possibly other parts of Canada as well.
This recall is due to possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination of products manufactured from the Dole facility located in Springfield, OH. This products can be identified with a product code beginning with the letter “A” in the upper right-hand corner of the package.
If the product code begins with a letter “A”, DO NOT CONSUME! If possible return it to the store where they were purchased, or throw it out! Food contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes can make you sick! Symptoms include:
- Vomiting
- Nausea
- Persistent fever
- Muscle aches
- Severe headache
- Neck Stiffness
Severe cases of illness may even cause death!
